In 2007 the first Lego Modular appeared, the LEGO 10182 Cafe Corner. This set was developed by Jamie Berard who is responsible for several Modular Buildings. The building with a modular concept was the result of a passion project by Jamie. Lego saw some bread in that. With this new line of sets, they were able to launch an extensible urban building concept that appeals to advanced (adult) Lego builders.
